Before any gel

  • Test on a small hidden spot first, especially on coloured silicone.
  • Dry the surface. Gel slides off wet rubber and caulk.
  • Ventilate the room while it works.

When it is not a stain job

  • Cracked or lifting caulk: cut it out and replace it.
  • Damp spreading across a wall: find the leak first.
  • Soft, absorbent materials: see our guides for the EPA advice.
