How the paste goes on
Fill, scrape, dry, sand, paint.
Fill
Shake the tube, then press paste into the hole or along the crack.
Scrape flat
Drag the scraper across at a low angle so the paste sits flush.
Let it dry
About 3 hours by our tub kit's directions, longer in cold air.
Sand and paint
Sand lightly, wipe the dust, then paint to match the wall.
About the Tub Kit
The tub holds more paste than our tube, and the kit adds two self-adhesive mesh patches, 2 and 4 inches, for doorknob holes and anchors that pulled out.
Clean the edges, stick the mesh over the hole, spread paste over it with the scraper, and let it dry. Our directions give 3 hours to dry fully, longer when the air is cold or damp. Sand it smooth and paint.
What it will not do
- It is not for structural damage or holes larger than the 4 inch patch.
- It dries white. Painting is the last step, not an option.
- It will not hold if the wall behind is wet. Find the leak first.
Like the tube, the paste is wall glue, resin and carbonate filler, and it can settle. Stir or shake before use and seal the lid after.
